The Galaxy S27 series may launch earlier than the Galaxy S26 did, according to leaked Samsung plans reported by Android Authority, GSMArena and PhoneArena. A post from user Lanzuk on the Korean platform Naver claims the next flagships will return to the usual January or February window, after the S26 generation slipped to a late February announcement and an early March release.
The delay this year was reportedly caused by a last-minute switch from an S26 Edge to an S26 Plus. For the S27, most major hardware decisions are said to be settled already, but the exact launch date and some component choices remain open. Treat all of this as rumor until Samsung confirms it.
Galaxy S27 specs: what leaks say so far
The clearest open question is memory. Back in September, reports said Samsung had decided to keep older LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.x storage in the standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus, while reserving LPDDR6 and UFS 5 for the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. Lanzuk now says the memory market heated up more than Samsung expected, so the company is debating whether to hold back those upgrades from the Pro and Ultra too.
- UFS 5: read speeds up to 10.8GB/s, write speeds up to 9.8GB/s, roughly double UFS 4.1
- UFS 5: about 40% more power efficient than UFS 4.1
- LPDDR6: up to 10.6-14.4Gbps per pin, versus 8.5Gbps per pin on LPDDR5X
- The upgrades would raise performance and the bill of materials, pointing to higher prices
