Meta has reportedly built a working humanoid robot prototype designed to help around the home, according to a report from The Information. The robot, built internally under the codename Max, was assembled in roughly three months with help from a Chinese robotics company called Fourier, the report said.
The news marks a serious step into robotics hardware for Meta, a company better known for social platforms and AI software. According to the report, there is no launch date yet for a mass-market version of Max — but Meta is already working on a second prototype.
