Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, doesn't ship until October 23, but the comparisons have already started. Engadget has put the $2,000 iPhone Duo against the $1,500 Motorola Razr Ultra, a sixth-generation foldable that costs $500 less.
The two devices share little beyond a foldable hinge. Engadget calls them 'very different demographics': the Razr Ultra is a compact 7-inch candybar that folds into your pocket, while the Duo is a passport-shaped device that runs regular iPhone apps and opens to a 7.6-inch matte display.
The stakes are high for Apple, which is entering a category it sat out for years while Samsung and Motorola took the early risks. At the same time, iOS 27.2 is in beta with new Apple Books design updates that 9to5Mac says arrive 'as iPhone Duo nears,' a sign Apple is preparing its software for a reading-friendly foldable.
