China's BYD sold 305,743 battery electric vehicles in October 2026, a new monthly record and more than the entire United States managed in the whole third quarter of 2026, according to figures published by Electrek.
Kelley Blue Book estimates put US EV sales at just over 262,500 units for Q3 2026. It is the first time BYD has crossed the 300,000 mark for battery electric cars in a single month, and a striking illustration of how far ahead China's EV industry now sits.
