Apple is set to announce its long-awaited smart home hub, reportedly named HomeView, at a smart-home-focused event on Tuesday, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The device is a Siri-powered display hub with an A18 chip that lets users control other smart home devices.
The launch would mark Apple's most serious push into the smart home yet, following limited traction for HomeKit and the HomePod speaker. Apple will also unveil updated Apple TV and HomePod mini models at the same event, per Gurman, alongside a partnership with LG for a smart lock, thermostat, and doorbell.
Apple HomeView specs and variants
The HomeView is expected in two variants: a standard countertop model with a metal speaker base, and a wall-mounted version. The countertop model will come in space gray, silver, starlight, and pink, while the wall version will be limited to space gray and silver.
Both models are said to run on the Apple A18 chip — the same SoC used in the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, and 16e — and feature a 6-inch touchscreen. The hub will reportedly offer a limited selection of Apple first-party apps, with no App Store for downloading additional apps. Shipping is expected in mid-November.
