Anthropic officially filed for an initial public offering on Monday, October 26, 2026, sending its Form S-1 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission after weeks of leaked drafts. The company plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker "ANT," setting up one of the most closely watched public debuts in modern U.S. history.
The filing ends months of speculation about the AI giant's plans and puts hard numbers behind its rise. It also confirms an unusual governance structure that will keep the company's seven co-founders in control even after public shareholders come on board.
Anthropic IPO: revenue, losses and enterprise customers
The numbers show explosive growth and heavy spending at the same time. According to TechCrunch, Anthropic recorded $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, up from $1.2 billion in the same period last year. Engadget reports revenue grew 1,368 percent year-over-year for the three months ending June 30, 2026, offset by a 300 percent rise in compute and infrastructure expenses.
The company still warned that it "may not achieve or sustain profitability in the future." Its net loss of $80.7 billion was largely driven by noncash accounting adjustments tied to convertible debt, while its operating loss narrowed from $2.1 billion to $693 million year-over-year.
