Amazon-owned Bee has unveiled its first new hardware since the retail giant acquired the startup just over a year ago: two AI note-taking devices, the Bee Frontier and the Bee Eclipse, priced at $74.99 and $99.99 respectively. The Frontier is available now on Amazon, while the Eclipse is listed as "available soon," with no firm date shared.
The launch is Amazon's clearest push yet into AI wearables, a category where rivals like Plaud and Pocket already sell similar recorders for $129 to $189. Bee is undercutting them on price and tying the devices directly into Alexa and Amazon shopping, with a $11.99 monthly Bee Pro subscription unlocking the full feature set.
Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse specs
The Frontier is the successor to Bee's original Pioneer, a small module worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. It is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, adds IP67 dust and water resistance, and comes in Onyx, Lavender and Sage. Bee promises up to seven days of battery life, USB-C charging and dual microphones with noise filtering.
The Eclipse is a different form factor entirely: a credit-card-sized magnetic puck that snaps onto the back of a phone. It carries three microphones and, according to Bee, more than 21 days of battery life — roughly triple the Frontier. Color options are Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush. Both devices have a single on/off button and an indicator light that shows when a conversation is being summarized.
